another encounter with the milledge bus

so as some of you may remember, Em always seems to have some trouble with that milledge bus. every so often emily can be seen sprinting (backpack and all) for the bus in the mornings. however, two roommates and the coltron had the privilege of witnessing an all-out, on-campus sprint for the milledge ave bus in front of joe brown.

surprise sandwich

Great Story from Sunday:

So while Jacquelyn was at home and Tyler was running to the grocery store Katie, Emily, Rebecca and Sarah enjoyed their lunches on the beautiful picnic table on the porch. Each girl brought their own lunch to the table. This day one roommate decided to make herself a tuna melt once-faced sandwich. She started my loading each side of the bread with canned tuna, then added what she thought was sweet relish and provolone. Next she popped the sandwich in the oven to toast the bread and melt the cheese. After taking the first bite of her appetizing meal, she mentioned that the tuna was spicy. No one could figure out the reasoning behind it so she continued to eat. While eating the last bite of the first half, she made another comment about how spicy it was. After discussing what was on the sandwich, another roommate asked an important question: Are you sure you put sweet relish on the sandwich? She pondered the question and then went to the refrigerator to look in the jar. The three at the picnic table soon heard "I put... Jalapeno peppers on it! Dangit!"

Had to be one of the funniest lunches at the 1490.

snnnooow day!!

obviously, the snow has descended upon athens today! our friends chris and chris came to play in the snow for a bit with sweet scout (chris's presh dog) before we had a roommate date to see Valentine's Day. which was a splendid movie btw.

after a brief stop into Krogs for some candy and DC, we hit up Carmike. [shocker] i, sarah, got real cracked out before the movie started. there's just something about all of us going out together that puts me in a good mood. i can't help but be sassy and extra spunky. i wanted to ask a stranger to take a pic of all 6 of us in the theatre but the rooms shot that down. i still maintain it would have been presh and in 30 years we will have nothing but sweet memories of roommate date night.

tomorrow we're having valentine's brunch and there will most assuredly be pictures. so get excited blog followers.

We got a picnic table!! yaaay! Sarah saw this sweet table in Agora a few weekends ago and impulsively bought it. [but in my defense, it was a great deal and i've been looking for an awesome picnic table for a year. and i can use it as my kitchen table next year].

There have been a few days where it's been warm enough to sit on the side porch and enjoy the table and milledge traffic, but not many. We can't wait until springtime when we can spend all the days eating and [studying] and talking on the side porch.

sorry we've been so lax in blogging lately. not much exciting has been going on over here.

Looking a little Festive...

So today is our Christmas Shindig and in honor of that, I, Sarah, wore a festive sweatshirt (it says "RAINDEER" big on the top with reindeer falling towards Santa with an umbrella) and a green & red bow (throwback to the elem days). I got lots of complements on how stellar and retro my bow looked and how fitting the sweater was (it rained today). Also, I picked up our christmas cards today and the sweet man at Walgreens said "Well aren't you looking festive today!"

Katie's sister Mary was over and said hello as I walked by Katie's room. As I walked away she immediately asked Katie, "Have you seen what Sarah's wearing today??"

Good to know people can appreciate a good Christmas ensemble.

Trip to Yellow River Game Ranch

OK, so we didn't really go to the game ranch, but we did watch a member of the house generate a yellow river in the living room. Uproarious laughter is a frequent visitor here, and it paid us a visit tonight. This Roommate knelt on the floor while trying to hold it in. No success. Gotta go to Krogs for some Pull-Ups.

NOTE: This was a different member from the other pee story. Apparently lack of bladder control is contagious... :)

Christmas is here!

So... WE GOT A TREE!!! We all love the holidays around here, especially Christmas, and this year we're going all out. We've got lights up outside and the tree is coming together quite nicely, as the lovely pic shows!

Oh Really?

I don't even remember what I was going to blog about but... ah yes my professor yesterday in class taught on the battle between good and evil, satan and God, that the Albigensium Crusade sought to win and made a reference to the battle between the Deceptecons and Autobots. Needless to say I was a little more focused for the rest of the class. Thank you prof for trying to make my time spent in a class about medieval europe connect to the real world. (of autobots and deceptecons- yes)

Oh Hey Charmin Bear!

Some of us were taking a mid-evening break in the basement when one roommate gets up to leave. On her way out, she stops at the support pole and rubs her butt against it. When we stare in shock she exclaims "Ugh my butt itches!" Other roommate cries out "Oh hey Charmin Bear!" [like the charmin commercial where the bear itches his butt to get the toilet paper off]. The wheeze came out fa sho.

part two de acidente

So today on the bus I was sitting down leaning forward to put on my backpack in the seat when the bus driver slammed on the brakes, where i proceeded to slam the top of my chest right below my collarbone on the handle that's on the top of some of the seats and then my knees got wedged behind the seat in front of me. awkward moment for a little until i could finagle out and get off the bus cause it was my stop. i keep forgetting why my chest is a little sore. when i remembered i had to blog about it. true story.

Acidente on el autobus

Yesterday I was on the Milledge bus when I heard this go down on the radio
student bus driver: "this is bus 249 to control... uhh there has been a little accident with a coca-cola truck."
control: "what happened"
student bus driver: "there was an altercation and there is a little damage to both the coca-cola truck and the bus"
control: "10-4 we'll send in a new bus"
student bus driver: "uhh actually there's a lot of damage to the bus- we're probably going to need to call the police..."

way to hold that little tidbit of information til the end dumb student bus driver... then i got off the bus and got to walk by the "altercation" on my way to class and the coke truck was parked mostly on the curb and the student bus driver just straight up side swiped the entire side of the coke truck and needless to say is missing a mirror, maybe a job now...

Across the pond...

Today I ran into a friend outside the SLC and we greeted each other in British accents [meanwhile one of her friends, whom I've never met, is standing to the side]. After a few minutes of chit-chat, we both went to class. I got a text a few seconds later saying "My friend wants to know what part of England you're from. Well done."

Made my week.

Are you a ninja....?

Today I wore a jean skirt, black t-shirt, black leggings, sparkly TOMS, a red vest and a red headband around my head [photo coming soon]. As I'm leaving class a girl (that I kinda ? know) asks me "So, are you supposed to be a ninja?" And because I'm so caught off guard I respond "Uhhh... no. I'm just trying out different costumes??" WHAT?!?!

And THEN, I get to the class I'm checking and one of the athletes asks me "So, is there, uh, any special reason you're dressed like that??" Me: "Uh. NO." Athlete: "Oh. Ok. Cool"

SCHWHAAT?!? Apparently I looked like a FOOL ninja. And I didn't even think this was one of the more outrageous outfits I've worn this semester... wait till they see the Noah's Ark vest...

Roommate 1: I've been so productive today and I LOVE it!

Roommate 2: I haven't been productive today but I just pooted.

things have been a little slow around here...

so things have been a little slow over here at the 1490... too much school and not enough sundowners times.

however, i [sarah wheezy cornett] turned 21 last night and this picture pretty much sums up the evening. props to ashley waite for finding the straw glasses.

also, sarah and rebecca have gone to marketing all week! and sarah stayed awake the whole time. that's a big deal. (just for you mom!)

The other day two of us were studying in Tate2. This gem of a conversation was overheard:

Girl 1: My mom was pretty uptight when I was a kid... kinda like I was last year.

Girl 2: Oh girl you're pretty free and loose this year though!

Girl 1: Yeah. I hope it isn't the birth control.

Study breaks...

Today, two of us were studying in Tate 2. The following discussion went down:

Roomie 1: I've only seen She's the Man once.

Roomie 2: WHAT?!?!!?

Roomie 1: Yeah I'm not a big Amanda Bynes fan.

Roomie 2: But it's SO FUNNY.

Roomie 1: Yeah I just enjoyed laughing when y'all found it so funny.

Roomie 2: Doing things with friends is makes things funnier.

Roomie 1: Doing things with friends is always fun. (said it a precious, sentimental voice.)

We laughed. We've also been studying too long.
